Convicted child molester Luke Heimlich was not one of them.
The Oregon State ace, who in his four year-career went 35-11 with a 2.32 ERA and was named Pac-12 pitcher of the year in 2017 and 2018, did not hear his name called in the second straight draft he was eligible in.
No teams thought Heimlich was worth the risk.
In 2012 at age 15, he pleaded guilty to molesting a six-year-old girl in his family.
He molested her more than once, according to The Oregonian, which obtained court documents last year that state Heimlich also had inappropriate interactions with the same girl when she was four. He was initially sentenced to 40 weeks at a juvenile rehab center in Washington, but wound up not spending any time there because the decision was suspended following two years of probation.
Afterwards, Heimlich entered sex offender treatment and registered as a Level 1 sex offender. His guilty plea only became public knowledge last year when he failed to renew his sex offender registration.

Even though he pleaded guilty six years ago, of late Heimlich has gone on the record and denied ever molesting the relative.
